The Public Art Boot Camp program, initiated in 2023, has played a vital role in nurturing local artists and advancing racial equity in the Seattle art scene. This program introduces artists to the practice of public art and provides them with the necessary tools and resources to succeed.
Through a series of workshops and trainings, artists gain valuable insights into developing concept proposals, hiring subcontractors, and navigating the various aspects of a temporary art commission. The program has been instrumental in centering artists of color and creating opportunities for underrepresented voices to be heard.
